We are seeking a Communication System Architect, Senior to join our team and dive headfirst into providing system engineering and logistics acquisition support for the modernization of the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) ground system for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC). The position will be based at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) facility in San Diego, CA. This position is contingent upon award of the contract.

The Communication System Architect, Senior will work with SSC and MUOS Program Managers in performing Department of Defense systems management, reduction, and analysis of C4ISR architecture data, development of systems of systems enterprise architecture, and architecture design tradeoffs, including application and interpretation of DoDAF architecture principles.

In addition, this position with assist in designing, delivering, and supporting global satellite and terrestrial telecommunications systems with leadership responsibilities for design trades, cost analysis, and system-level architectures.

They should expect to brief senior leaders on program progress, being able to translate complex technical problems into executive-ready briefs.

Travel to vendor sites for meetings and reviews is possible.

Qualifications:

Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience
  • Experience with global military UHF SATCOM, global Navy shore networks, and commercial or military WCDMA communication systems
  • Experience implementing software and scripting languages into complex service oriented and virtualized baselines
  • Proficient in enterprise Standards and Protocols
  • Proficient in big data engineering and analytics
  • Comprehension of complex track and platform data modeling and aggregation algorithms

Additional Qualifications Desired, but not required:

  • Experience with Defense Acquisition System DoD 5000 series and Space Force or DoD program planning
  • Experience with and knowledgeable of the Space Force requirements and program office organizations and processes

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • DAWIA Level III in Information Systems or equivalent certification or military experience
