Vessel Mortgage & Deletion Coordinator
Responsible for preparation and coordination of vessel mortgage and deletion closings; recording of mortgage instruments and instruments of conveyance; issuance of vessel mortgage certificates and deletion certificates.
Essential Duties:
Vessel Mortgage:
- Provides clients with information on mortgage procedures;
- Reviews draft and executed vessel mortgage documents under manager’s supervision;
- Prepares and distributes invoices for vessel mortgage services; ensures collection of mortgage fees;
- Updates clients and company offices on outstanding requirements to complete mortgage process;
- Coordinates vessel closing arrangements with clients, and those involved with the closing;
- Issues vessel mortgage recording details;
- Prepares certified copies of mortgage instruments on clients’ request;
Vessel Deletion:
- Provides clients with information on vessel deletion procedures;
- Prepares and distributes deletion invoices, in coordination with company billing departments;
- Updates clients and offices on outstanding requirements to complete vessel deletion process;
- Coordinates closing arrangements with clients, company offices and nautical inspectors, as needed.
Other:
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned by management level personnel.
- On the job you will learn and be required to retain knowledge of Maritime Laws and Regulations related to vessel Mortgage and Deletion Process and Procedures.
Experience, Education and Certification
High School degree required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Vessel Mortgage or Maritime industry or legal experience, a plus.
Minimum two year of Administration experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and use of general office equipment
Ability to work efficiently in fast- pace environment, prioritize work and meet deadlines
Well organized and detail oriented; ability to work with little or no supervision
Excellent proofreading skills
Proficient in business correspondence; strong skills in English grammar and composition
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Availability to work outside regular business hours on request (nights, holidays and weekends)
Able to lift approximately 15 – 20 lbs.
