We areseeking a highly motivated Technical Project & Engineering Manager to support our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provides project engineering support for network engineering programs and projects that tie into the overall agency Strategic Technology roadmap.
- Manages the development, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of complex network designs/solutions.
- Generates engineering documentation in support of all network engineering, design and testing activities in order to ensure completion of projects are as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Reviews and evaluates changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a network engineering projects. Monitors progress and performance against the engineering project plan.
- Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in technology related field and 8 year’s equivalent experience or subject matter expertise in network engineering; High School and 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN) problems and supporting of cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions.
- Extensive experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Services Routers (ASRs)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of routing protocols and technologies including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including STP, MST, VLANS
- Experience providing Tier 3 support and issue resolution
- Experience with network design and traffic engineering
- Experience providing senior-level engineering support
- Large enterprise environment experience
- Excellent communication skills
- 6 years of project management experience in the areas of network engineering and technology management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or higher degree
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher
- Experience in network engineering within the federal intelligence community
- Ability to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies.
