We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining on-premises and cloud applications, servers, storage, and network equipment. The position reports to the Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Security and will be expected to plan, install, configure, and manage all aspects of IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective delivery of services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Candidates need creativity to imagine innovative, effective new solutions and designs.
  • Managing and maintaining Firewalls, VPN, and Windows domain controller/Active Directory
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure services
  • Monitor systems availability and performance by using tools available.
  • Liaise with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors for maximum guidance in determining the most appropriate type of solutions.
  • Designs, specify, and documents WAN configurations according to user needs, utilizing outside support resources
  • Prepares charts and diagrams to explain network operations and to train managers and others in proper use. Prepares checklists and processes for the help desk team.
  • Analyzes workloads, including traffic and utilization trends.
  • Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard the system from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data.
  • Performs other duties and projects as required.

General Qualification Guidelines:

Experience, Education, and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or in a degree program in Information Systems or Network Telecommunications with at least 5 years of proven experience or equivalent certification (e.g. MCSA, VCP, Comp TIA, A+, Network+).
  • An understanding of Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022), VMware or Microsoft Hypervisor, LAN and WAN topologies (Ethernet), and protocols (TCP/IP). Strong knowledge and experience with server hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, File Server, and Print Services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and technologies.
  • Azure cloud services experience essential with a minimum of 5 Years’ experience.
  • VMWare experience is essential with a minimum of 5 Years’ experience.
