Overview

RTI International seeks a prospect for the Pharmacology Internship within the Discovery Sciences (DS) unit. 

RTI International’s Center for Drug Discovery (CDD) integrates medicinal chemistry into larger projects focused on drug discovery and development.

The Pharmacology intern will perform pharmacological assays under supervision to test novel compounds at target receptors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about pharmacology and biology
  • Experience drug development

  • Producing reports related to experiments

Additional Information

This hybrid academic credit internship will be supported by a university funded stipend and will take place from June 2024 through August 2024. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship 
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year college
  • Interest in a career in health sciences
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis of data using various software
  • Basic laboratory experience in biology, chemistry and physics
  • Ability to analyze published scientific data
  • Eligible to receive academic credit
