Join our team at Reedsburg Area Medical Center! We are looking for a Pharmacy Tech to join us in our Inpatient Pharmacy!

Schedule: Part-Time | 16 hours/week | Weekend and holiday rotation 

Reedsburg Area Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to support our inpatient pharmacy team. In this part-time role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and delivering high-quality pharmacy services to inpatient departments. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-centered environment with a collaborative healthcare team.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Interprets Patient/Resident Medication orders and provides the correct drug, dose, quantity, and dosage form to the correct individual
  • Drug distribution with 100% accuracy of information in terms of spelling, strength, lot number and expiration date..
  • Assists in control and distribution of controlled substances with strict adherence to procedural and legal requirements.
  • Investigates and takes appropriate action to resolve problems within the department.
  • Prepares client charges with 95% accuracy and understands computerized billing operations including billing to CMS and private insurers.
  • Shows great attention to detail and maintains files of med orders, prescriptions, and pharmacy forms with 100% accuracy.
  • Exhibits proficiency of parenteral product preparation with 100% accuracy when the final inspection of preparation, calculations, documentation, and labeling is made by the pharmacist.

Experience and Training Required: 

  • A minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent with competency of basic English and Math skills.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant state and federal regulations and pharmacy policies and practices.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license.
  • National Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Completion of pharmacy technician training or equivalent, as determined by Pharmacy Director.
  • BLS certified.
