Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant is directly accountable to the Director of Radiology, and indirectly to the technologists, and / or Shift Supervisor. Is an independent worker that performs clerical duties for the Radiology Department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The Radiology Assistant should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in Radiology. This person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility. Is able to assist staff technologists with duties involving indirect/direct patient care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. One year experience as receptionist/secretarial experienced preferred 2. High School Graduate or equivalent, some college preferred 3. Knowledge of Radiology tests preferred. 4. Some proficiency in Microsoft office, word, Excel
