Position Title: Consumer Operations Analyst

Department:  Consumer Lending

Position Reports To:  Director of Consumer Lending

Position Supervises:  No Direct Reports

Position Summary: 

Manage all aspects of compliance and regulatory items that impact Consumer Lending to ensure timely and accurate process implementation.  Analyze all consumer loan processes and assist in internal audit function, analyze results of the audits and report findings and solutions to Consumer Loan Managers.   Reconcile all debt protection sales, payments and incentives for branch and servicing distribution. Be the lead with monthly Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reviews.  Reconcile all monthly vendor invoices and prepare monthly production reports for Consumer Lending department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Consumer Lending written standard operational procedure manuals

• Conduct self-audits for consumer loan procedures to ensure all lending practices are conducted within state, federal and FDIC guidelines

• Prepare monthly production reports for the Consumer Lending department

• Be the lead in the First Line of Defense monitoring process; assist in monthly sample testing

• Be the lead with monthly HMDA reportable loan reviews

• Balance consumer loans in process (LIP) general ledger account daily / monthly 

• Balance internal dealer deserve general ledger accounts monthly

• Analyze and reconcile indirect ACH checking account monthly

• Reconcile & pay vendor invoices

• Generate and reconcile all debt protection reports monthly

• Generate and reconcile debt protection, quarterly sales incentives for branch distribution

• Lead or assist with Consumer Lending projects

• Serve as back-up to System Administrator – unlocking/resetting passwords in Loan Origination System (LOS) and other duties as they develop

• Recommend changes and additions to loan programs to ensure customer satisfaction, efficiency gains and profitability of company

• Lead or assist with emails from the Loan Servicing department 

• Other duties as assigned

Education, Certification, License and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required

• Associate's degree from an accredited school with  business-related concentration, preferred

• Five (5) years of consumer or mortgage lending-related experience and/or training, preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of consumer lending underwriting standards, all lending laws and regulations, consumer loan products, credit scoring and LOS processing system.

• Must understand accounting principles as they relate to the financial services industry along with a firm understanding of consumer credit practices, policies, procedures, lending regulations and applicable state laws.

• Must have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and WebEx.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Must possess excellent verbal and written skills and be able to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

• Job consists of diversified tasks requiring the selection and application of the most pertinent of established procedures; Independent judgment required in order to be able to gather, analyze and interpret data; Ability to assess the consumer lending process and create efficiencies in workflow; must be a self-starter, must be able to multitask.

Ability to drive a vehicle for travel is required for the position.
