Mechanical Design Engineer OEM Hybrid - Germantown, MD
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their OEM Design team. You will support the engineering design team for HVAC / Cooling / Mechanical Equipment that supports the Data Center Industry. The ideal candidate will have past experience designing commercial HVAC mechanical OEM Equipment specifically for cooling mission critical data center computer rooms. 

Responsibilities:
  • Research, develop, design Mechanical and Electromechanical products and systems on new and existing industrial / commercial grade OEM Equipment
  • Create design validations using both prototypes and testing
  • Identify, specify mechanical and electro-mechanical components when required
  • Machine design for manufacturability and integration
  • OEM Products are Engineer to Order / Make to Order environment 
  • 2 days remote / 3 days onsite
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Degree / Mechanical Engineer a plus
  • 1-5 years’ experience, entry level considered
  • CAD Modeling / Solidworks / AutoCAD / Revit  
  • Equipment sizing and calculations
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment / OEM Experience a huge plus!
  • PE or EIT a plus
  • Knowledge of commercial cooling systems, chiller systems and indoor computer room air conditioning (CRAC) and computer room air handling (CRAH) units, Mechanical Systems , HVAC , Boilers , Chillers , Pumps , etc. 
  • Effective Communicator – emails, phone, and face to face.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical:  Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, SeaBees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
