The Opportunity:
Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity in our Raleigh office. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Project Architect to perform Construction Administration who will administer construction contracts for large projects, advise on construction techniques, building codes, interpret CDs, process shop drawings and submittals, and collaborate with the Project Manager, Project Designer, and the principal-in-Charge.
Our ideal candidate is excited about combining their technical skill and CA expertise on multi-family, senior living, and mixed-use projects currently underway and beginning construction in the North Carolina region.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for issuing design sketches, communicating with CM/GCs daily, mentoring junior team members, and providing technical advice on projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet project and client needs.
- Participation in and representation of Perkins Eastman in OAC meetings.
- Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years' experience in general architectural practice and construction administration of various building types in the region.
- A professional degree in architecture preferred, as is licensure, not required.
- Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with project consultants.
- Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards.
- Able to interpret, communicate and present design intent and find solutions with GSs, owners and team members throughout the construction process.
- Possessing strong interpersonal skills - working with a team that emphasizes collaboration with engineers, owners, and builders and working in a focused and mutually respectful office environment.
- Proficiency with MS Word & Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, & Bluebeam is required.
- Proficiency with Revit and familiarity with Navisworks, or other MEP coordination software is preferred.
- Proficiency with Newforma, ProCore, and/or other construction project management software is required (training available).
Type: Hybrid. 3 days in office 2 days working remotely, flexible days/working hours.
