Position: Assistant Registrar
Status: Full Time Exempt (12-Month)

Salary: $58,500 - $62,000
Description: Reporting to the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar performs all the routine tasks of the Registrar’s Office, which is under the supervision of the Dean of Curriculum. Typical duties will include maintenance of student educational records, registration, online services, faculty/advisor services, transfer evaluations and degree planning/audit. Determination of the responsibilities, title and salary for this position will be contingent upon the ideal candidate’s combined experience, education and skill set, as well as the ability to perform timely, accurate reporting. This position is designed to be a growth position allowing the successful candidate to develop and diversify professional skills and knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assure efficient and accurate delivery of Registrar’s Office functions and services.
2. Assist with preliminary and final transcript evaluations.
3. Train and assist students and faculty with online registration and degree planning tools.
4. Work with Registrar to maintain and update the online college catalog, Registrar’s website, and degree planner.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and a procedure manual to help ensure consistency for data management.
6. Assist with troubleshooting and management of student success software.
7. Responsible for National Student Clearinghouse Reporting, SEVIS reporting, intercollegiate athletics eligibility, and veteran certifications.
8. Assist with annual NY State and Federal reporting.
9. Assist with campus-wide engagement and satisfaction surveys.
10. Responsible for classroom and final exam scheduling each semester.
11. Coordinate pre-registration of new students before and during new student orientation. Prepare degree plans for new students.
12. All other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or experience in college/university registrar/admissions setting.
2. Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) with the ability to become an advanced user, basic computer programming and data analysis.
3. Demonstrated excellence in accurate and detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently on diverse projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Preferred:
1. Advanced computer skills and knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access), intermediate computer programming and data analysis.
2. Experience with cloud-based student success applications such as Starfish Early Alert.
3. Experience using and managing online degree planning tools like Starfish DegreePlanner.
4. Experience with PowerCampus Vista Views, MS SQL Management Studio, MS Power BI or other BI or reporting software.
5. 1+ years of higher education experience, preferably in a Registrar’s Office, with increasing responsibilities. 6. Knowledge of NYS and Federal reporting requirements, and FERPA.
