OrthoNebraska is looking for a Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of all staff and visitors that present to our campus. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and social skills to interact with staff as well as visitors in a polite and professional manner. This position involves monitoring and patrolling of the campus as well as conducting security rounds with the occasional intervention of a disruptive guest.  OrthoNebraska promotes a highly professional atmosphere and is dedicated to patient and staff safety. Schedule:

Friday – Monday 11:00pm – 7:30am

Position Details/Duties:
  • Be alert and ready to engage at all times
  • Be visible to patients and guests
  • Communicate with staff as situations arise
  • Do rounds as assigned and document findings
  • Assist with patient access and way finding as needed
  • Participate in safety drills and events
  • Assist with facility staff as requested
 
Skills Needed:
  • Be able to multi-task when needed
  • Be able to defend self and others
  • Be punctual for work shifts
  • Basic computer skills helpful
  • Must be trustworthy
  • Organizational skills
  • Good communicator
 
Position Requirements:
  • Valid Drivers License
  • No Criminal Record
  • Ability to be flexible for covering hours when needed
  • 19 years of age or older
  • Attend self-defense training as assigned and provided
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
  • Some security experience helpful
  • CPR or BLS (basic life support) training helpful
  • Self-defense training helpful
 
Physical:
  • This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work
    • Assisting patients with wheelchairs
    • Assist staff with patient beds occasionally
    • The job will require a lot of walking
    • Ability to self-defend
