| Qualifications: | - High School graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate of completion of a formal Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program
- Current Certified Nurse Assistant Licensure in the state of California
- RNA Certification required or within 30 days of hire
- Complete 12 hours of continuing education per year as required by state law; provided by Center.
- Previous long-term care experience
- Ability and willingness to work well with residents and staff
- Ability to work under pressure and relate to resident, family, and long-term care staff.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending) in order to understand, plan, and carryout resident care plans and ADLs.

Responsibilities: | Job Summary Provides restorative nursing therapy treatment to residents to help resident attain/maintain their highest level of function.
Duties
- Assists with active and passive therapeutic exercises under the supervisor of Director of Nursing (DN) or Director of Rehab (DOR)
- Instructs, motivates, and assists residents to learn and improve functional activities, such as eating, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities, and completes documentations.
- Observes residents during treatment and complies and evaluates data on residents’ responses to treatment and progress and reports orally or in writing to (DN) or (DOR).
- Confers with members of restorative staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss and evaluate resident information and participation for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
- Records resident information on the restorative flow sheet, according to policy.
- Complete on-the-job training by a qualified therapist (physical or occupational)
- Orients and instructs new Restorative Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as instructed
- Assists with resident meal service as assigned.
- Answers call lights, bells, or intercom and provide resident care and services needed.
- Transports resident to and from restorative program.
- Meets with DN or DOR a minimum of monthly to review each resident’s performance in their restorative program.
CNA Duties: - Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine resident needs.
- Provides assistance with bathing, dressing, toiletry, and oral hygiene activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help.
- Transports residents, using wheelchair or wheeled cart, or assists residents to walk.
- Turns and repositions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance, and utilizing proper body mechanics, to prevent pressure ulcers.
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, food and fluid intake and output, and weight, as directed.
- Completes documentation (e.g. meal monitor, I&O records, ADL, and Aide flow sheets).
- May be assigned to a specific area of Center.
- May be assigned to clean, disinfect, and store bedpans, bedside commodes, urinals, and other supplies by licensed nurse commensurate with CNA’s abilities.
- Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone, usually on weekends and evening or night shifts.
- Drapes residents for examinations and treatments, and remains with residents, performing such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights.
- Washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons as needed.
- May be assigned to complete Quality Assurance tasks.
- May be assigned to provide Nursing Restorative Program.
