Responsibilities:Job Summary
The Radiology Tech Intern is an entry-level position for new graduates immediately following completion of an accredited Radiology program, while awaiting results of ARRT exam and California licensing. The Radiology Tech Intern will work under the direct supervision of an ARRT/CRT technologist. Will train and perform non-invasive routine support services.
Duties
- Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devises as needed to obtain optimum views of specific area of body requested by ordering practitioner
- Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtains patient cooperation
- Moves imaging equipment into specific position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff
- Accurately inputs procedural data into Tenzing and PACS

Lifting Requirements:
Frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. May lift up to 100 lbs with assistance. Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restriction.
Work area is well lighted and ventilated. Regularly exposed to the risks of blood borne and airborne diseases. Contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to noise, chemicals, communicable diseases, and hazardous materials. Wears personal protective equipment as required.
