Orbital Engineering is seeking a Reality Capture Assistant (Part Time) to support our Midwest Operations. This position will involve assisting the Reality Capture Technician with conducting various 3D scanning procedures in a heavy industrial environment. This role will require frequent travel to local client sites in the Toledo, OH Region.
Responsibilities:
• Visit job sites such as chemical & petrochemical plants, construction sites, and other industrial buildings to perform reality capture tasks using the lidar and photogrammetry equipment such as terrestrial scanners, mobile scanners, drones and Matterport cameras
• Set up job sites with targets, plan equipment placement and capture properties accordingly
• Once reality capture is complete, perform data upload, processing and registration tasks at the office using software such as Faro Scene, Autodesk ReCap
• Deploy web viewers to setup remote viewing by the clients
• Archive/backup scan data after finalizing reality capture job scope
• Teach clients how to operate scan viewing software if needed via in person or web meetings
Required Skills/ Abilities:
• Travel will be required frequently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical & organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Must have time management skills and the ability to meet firm deadlines
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to walk with the equipment at client sites for an entire day when needed.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs with the equipment when needed.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to carry up to 20-30 pounds of equipment throughout worksite
