The Director of Programs position is a senior management position responsible for the overall leadership, management, and organizational development of programs and services for the Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services, Conscience Community Network Programs, and Nurturing Parenting Program in the McHenry, Gurnee, St. Charles, Kenwood, Mt Vernon, Effingham, and Charleston offices of Illinois.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
Experience:
- 5 years in Human Services
Additional Requirements:
- Child Welfare Employee Licensing Board (CWEL) Required

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance
- Traveling up to 25% of the day-to-day
- Schedule may require evenings and weekends
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, executes, and evaluates the activities of the programs and services
- Builds alliances and partnerships with the community
- Supervises program leaders and administrative staff
- Prepares reports for use by the agency
- Oversees the effectiveness of programs; develops the strategic plan and priorities for programs and services, monitors progress towards desired objectives; handles obstacles and challenges to goal achievement
- Oversees team development, evaluation, and advocacy
- Effectively works with diverse staff members
- Empowers staff members to achieve outcomes; motivates staff towards goal attainment
- Seeks funding from public or private initiatives to promote and maintain One Hope United's mission and programs
- Maintains, reviews, and has control of financial affairs for programs and services; organizes and allocates the right resources for goal achievement
- Ensures compliance with all program contracts and grants
- Plans and implements change effectively
- Utilizes technology to effectively support the management function
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Ability to assess, interpret, and deliver care-related information concerning the life-span development of children and families
- Excellent written and oral communication, with the ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner
- Highly organized, yet flexible and can handle multiple projects and/or priorities well with the ability to manage tight deadlines
- Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
- Positive attitude concerning all aspects of working in a challenging environment (including significant patience and respect for children and families), sensitivity to cultural needs, and ability to serve as a positive member of a working team
- Resourcefulness in researching issues, analyzing information skillfully, solving problems, and developing solutions with minimal supervision in a timely manner
- Strong personnel and management skills with the ability to coach and develop team members
- Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality
