PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order):

  • Follows and complies with established safety, quality, and work practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all production and facility support equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting on production equipment.
  • Provide technical support to operations personnel as needed in support of set-up and production activities.
  • Estimates job material requirements and provides information to Maintenance Coordinator for procurement and inventory control.
  • Prepares work area prior to beginning work and cleans up area upon completion.
  • Work closely with other skilled trades and professionals such as tool and die personnel, electricians, mobile equipment technicians, and automation engineers to provide technical support and repair activities for the plant.
  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements and safety procedures.
  • Wears all appropriate PPE for job performed.
  • Keep work area clean and clear of clutter and debris.
  • Work from equipment drawings, sketches, machine operation and maintenance manuals, work requests, and oral instructions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Rebuild and maintain primary roll forming, forming and ancillary equipment throughout the plant.
  • Support departmental and facility 6S initiatives.

Ability to complete routine assignments with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. 

 

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Completion of certified maintenance training program or technical school
  • Any combination of education, training experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

Experience:

  • 5 years industrial maintenance experience in a production environment or:
    • Completion of a certified maintenance training program and 2 years of experience
    • Prior military training and experience in operation and maintenance of a mechanical, hydraulic, or propulsion system. Proof of service required.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Must provide own hand tools.
  • Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, temperature, and pressure gauges/measuring systems

 

Additional Skills:   

  • Principles and theories of a specialty craft with skill and ability to accomplish routine tasks.
  • Practical mathematics (arithmetic, elementary algebra)
  • Proficient in reading and following basic blueprints, manuals, and mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Operational experience with forklifts and aerial lifts a plus.
  • Ability to maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
  • Able to work overtime as needed for completion of repairs as well as occasional weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail.
