Key Accountabilities
- Provides electronic design engineering knowledge to support engineering of new products of electro-mechanical downhole tools and electronic sub-assemblies.
- Sources and procurement of electronics components, parts and sub-assemblies (up to and including major assemblies)
- Creates production and repair documentation for repair and service of electro-mechanical tools.
- Strong background in developing test plans and fixtures from the component to system level to integrate into manufacturing.
- Analyzes results using PSpice (or equivalent software) to determine component and/or circuit capabilities and implement design changes to achieve targeted circuit performance and/or eliminate defects.
- Evaluate electronics circuit assemblies to individual component level and recommends/implements circuit changes as required to meet specific circuit design parameters.
- Responsible for synchronous design, routing, simulation, prototyping, testing, and technical documentation of new and existing electrical hardware.
- Assemble, debug and test: Board-level and modular integration of circuits and components into working instrumentation for new product introduction to manufacturing.
- Documents activities, prepares technical reports, presents results, and demonstrate system capabilities to the product development and management team.
- Ensure compliance of all Federal, State, County, and Local regulations applicable to explosives operations
Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology; or a combination of related experience and education/training.
- 7 - 10+ years of experience in all phases of electrical products including definition of requirements, initial conceptual design, prototyping, component selection, test procedures and manufacturing support.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge of component selection, design calculations/analysis, schematics design & prototyping.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to generate/maintain embedded code for 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers for telemetry and control system
