GEODynamics in Millsap, TX is looking for qualified candidates for Senior Electronics Engineering Technician. Our campus is on the frontage road of Interstate 20 near Millsap, TX. Located west of Fort Worth, it is an easy commute from surrounding communities of Weatherford, Stephenville, Mineral Wells and Aledo.
Key Accountabilities:
- Mechanical assembly of electro-mechanical downhole tools and electronic sub-assemblies.
- Troubleshoot problems to the component level and mitigate design flaw during engineering process.
- Provide mechanical and electronic design engineering knowledge to support engineering of new products.
- Source and procurement of electronics components, parts and sub-assemblies (including wiring harnesses).
- Create production and repair documentation for repair and service of electro-mechanical tools.
- Programming and operation of imbedded chip programmers and single board computers.
- Works in conjunction with Engineering and Product Line Manager to maximize flow efficiency, product enhancement and new product development.
- Performs troubleshooting of tool, equipment, and overall wireline systems.
- Represents GEODynamics at industry related organizations and events.
- Ensure compliance of all Federal, State, County, and Local regulations applicable to explosives operations
Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge:
- Associate degree in Electronics from technical institute or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of soldering; both individual components and wave soldering techniques.
- Knowledge of electronic component and sub-assembly handling and placement.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before field personnel and provide onsite demonstrations.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Minimal travel required.
