The Sr Hydraulic and Electrical Lab Technician supports research & design engineers in the Electro-Mechanical department on prototype of wireless systems and will assemble, test and troubleshoot new and existing electronics designs for continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops new designs and assembles electrical, electro-mechanical, test apparatus, and related items for testing and evaluation of systems components and tools.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Reads and understands component specification sheets, mechanical drawings and electronics schematics.
  • Creates documentation including wiring diagrams, and electronics descriptions; assists technical writers in development of equipment manuals.
  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests, evaluates and records results.
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Assists in evaluating vendors and components based on price, quality reliability and availability.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES.

  • Strong understanding of electrical concepts associated with the performance of instrumentation used to measure temperature and pressure.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics, including electrical & mechanical.
  • Possesses strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two-year degree or equivalent experience in an electronics, manufacturing or mechanical field.
  • 5 - 8 years of experience working within a team manufacturing environment.
  • Basic to Intermediate computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be willing to travel 30% of the time.
  • Must be able to be exposed to loud noise including both high and low decibels, vibration & bright lights.
