Oakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our University Woods (West Side of Madison)  senior living community facility team as a Medical Assistant. The medical assistant role at the University Woods Campus (West Side of Madison) primary duty would be to assist the campus educator and infection Preventionist with administrative duties.

The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Sr. Infection Prevention Manager.

The Medical Assistant position hours are during normal business hours (8:00am-4:30pm), Full time, 80 hours every two weeks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies resident and employee information by completing a questionnaire.
  • Communicate effectively with staff members; residents and family to ensure needs are met.
  • Organizes materials and manages time to ensure tasks are done in a timely manner.
  • Completes data entry for the NHSN weekly reporting.
  • Manges effectively staff and resident line lists.
  • Manages antibiotic stewardship.
  • Audits staff compliance and infection control practices.
  • Serves as back up to the IP/Staff Educator.
  • Manges regulatory compliance and sustains educational initiatives within the clinical department.
  • Collaborates with nurses and administrative leadership staff on issues related to employee and resident testing.
  • Organizes set up and take down of resident and staffing COVID-19 testing including annual flu slot clinic.
  • Responsible for using all PPE equipment, and working with medical supply to ensure necessary products are available for staff and resident testing.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Works in a collaborative environment which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of One Oakwood.
  • Maintains departmental quality assurance and infection control standards

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING

  • Medical Assistant education required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR Certificate required.
  • Prior experience working with geriatric population preferred.
