Registered Nurse Opportunity:

NCHC's Acute Care teams help make a difference for the individuals we serve who are facing both temporary and chronic mental health and substance use challenges.

Compensation and Perks:

  • This job is a full-time, in person position. The hours for this role are 8:30am  - 8:30pm or 6:00pm – 6:00am
  • The starting pay range for this role is $39.50-$43.00 based on education and experience. In addition, there is a $2.50 per hour shift differential for NOC shift. and up to a $10,000 signing bonus.
  • PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, on-site bistro and cafeteria, employee assistance program, newly updated facility, and more.
  • As a full-time employee of NCHC, you are eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is a hybrid defined benefit plan. It contains elements of both a 401(k) or defined contribution plan and a defined benefit plan. Participating staff contribute 6.95% and NCHC will match this at 100% each pay period!

What Qualifies You:

  • Degree in Nursing earned at an accredited college or university.
  • Current Professional Nurse Registration from the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS (CPR) Certification
  • Preferred certification in Psychiatric Nursing
  • Effective communication, documentation and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including attention to detail, compassion, listening, empathy, patience, cooperation, and dependability
  • Ability to lift, transport, and support residents
  • Exceptional attendance

What a Registered Nurse does at NCHC:

  • Develops and follows a person-centered plan of care addressing each patient’s range in ability to perform activities of daily living.
  • Performs and documents risk assessments, preventative measures, and proactive interventions.
  • Follows safe medication administration practices.
  • Identifies, monitors, assesses and treats individuals with mental health, substance use, and other disorders.
  • Accurately assesses for signs/symptoms of withdrawal while reporting and documenting pertinent findings.
  • Demonstrates completion of a plan of care for patients that is measurable, achievable, and done in collaboration with the resident/client, family, caregivers and the care team.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of policies and procedures for restraints/seclusions.
  • Verbalizes understanding of admission criteria and care for clients in various BHS programs.
  • Understands prevention techniques and management of behavior that is harmful to self and others.
