Description

The Office Clerk - Temporary is responsible for performing various clerical/administrative functions to support their assigned department.

Pay range of $12.88 - $14.42 per hour 

Work hours from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
Occasional position

Education, Licenses, Certification, Skills, and Experience Requirements: 

  • Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum Work Experience:
  • Prior customer service or medical office experience.
  • Required Skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details.
  • Demonstrates proper use of office equipment.
  • Understanding of HIPPA laws and NCHC policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with team members.
  • Comfortable adapting to dynamic workflows.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • N/A
  • Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Education, Licenses, Certifications and Requirements:
    • Possess 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows.

 

Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles record retention and destruction of both paper and electronic elements to comply with NCHC policy and procedure.
  • Logs charts to be destroyed.
  • Filing, organizing, and maintaining medical records all while preserving the integrity of the legal health record
  • Preps charts to be scanned into EMR/EHR system.
  • Responsible for properly shredding paperwork and chart folders so that PHI is unreadable, indecipherable, and otherwise cannot be reconstructed.
  • Completes company assigned learning modules in a timely manner.
  • Create documents, maintaining databases and sending memos and emails
  • Running errands and making deliveries around the office or to external parties
  • Collecting, filing and organizing office documents, such as reports and confidential records
  • Managing digital document filing, including encrypted documents and email correspondence
  • Monitoring office inventory and ordering supplies
  • Packaging and shipping company materials
  • Assist with projects as the need arises.
  • Maintains regular on-site attendance.

60 % General Office Work: Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and other technology; data interpretation, decision making, problem recognition, problem solving, visual acuity (near visual acuity, far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision), hearing, verbal communication, verbal comprehension, writing communication, and written comprehension

30% Sedentary Work: Continuous sitting at desk for several hours occasional standing, walking, turning, twisting, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, and lifting of under 10 pounds as required

10% Medium Work: Frequent lifting, standing, walking, turning, twisting, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and grasping. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted
