Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three years of professional/administrative work experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with popular social media platforms and content creation.
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.
  • Well-organized with a high level of attention to detail
  • Passion for marketing and communications and a drive to learn more; prior marketing experience is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is on-site and based out of Dallas, NC. 
  • Generally, works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Some walking, standing, and bending required, and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 35 pounds. 
  • Must be able to travel between campuses and to other applicable events.
  • Work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
  • In addition to regular office hours, this position requires availability to work weekend and/or evening hours.

Position Description

SUMMARY

Open until filled-

The Marketing Administrator supports the daily operations of the marketing and communications department. In this role, you’ll utilize a variety of skills collaborating with the team on marketing projects and initiatives. This position helps to organize and coordinate department responsibilities to ensure the team is effectively meeting goals and deadlines. The Marketing Administrator reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform a variety of administrative duties to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities, which may include scheduling/coordinating meetings, appointments, work orders; taking meeting minutes; creating and reconciling expense/budget reports and generating purchase orders using the E-Procurement System; and performing research as needed. 
  2. Responsible for being the centralized, main point-of-contact for internal (faculty, staff, and students) and external customers, clients, vendors, and various organizations or entities.  Greets customers, provides guidance and assistance as needed, and responds to calls, emails, and other inquiries with exceptional customer service. Administers the day-to-day administrative aspects of the marketing and communications department to optimize customer service and communications.  
  3. Manage and coordinate all requests for mascot appearances following strict established guidelines. Managing includes coordination of persons to be the mascot, and travel to/from athletic games, college and local community events to act as the mascot handler. Assist with putting on and removing the costume, provide guidance and assistance while walking around at events, and handle sanitizing, cleaning and general maintenance of the mascot costume.
  4. Assist with various aspects of College events handled by the marketing and communications department. This may include pre-event coordination, setup, and on-site logistics management. 
  5. Assist with planning, creating, editing, and/or posting a variety of digital and multimedia content. This can include taking photos, capturing videos, identifying individuals to feature, and editing designed templates. 
  6. Assist the Marketing and Communications Coordinator in managing content calendars, coordinating scheduled content for the main college and athletics social channels, and monitoring social accounts for alerts, mentions, or messages that provide appropriate opportunities to engage with our audiences.
  7. Coordinate and handle campus signage requests from internal and external customers. Schedule content for digital signage on campus, ensuring that signs remain up-to-date and reflect College brand standards and messaging.
  8. Assist in maintaining the College’s electronic photo database including uploading, tagging, and organizing photos.
  9. Assist in the organizing of campaigns and other various marketing projects as assigned. Track progress, follow up on deliverables and keep the Marketing and Communications team updated to ensure schedules and due dates are met.
  10. Create, analyze and maintain a variety of department reports.
  11. Assist in managing relationships with external vendors that work with the marketing and communications department to ensure deadlines are met and work is performed satisfactorily. Review and process applicable purchase orders and expenses per the established budget and guidelines.
  12. Assist with special projects, college events or other marketing and communications activities and perform other duties as assigned.
  13. Maintain a high standard of professional and ethical practice in representing the College. Maintain confidentiality of applicable information. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the field or discipline with continued adherence to professional accountability. Accept responsibility for managing situations and problems. Provide a high level of service to customers by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships. Work cooperatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and College objectives. Adhere to the College’s policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.
