Minimum Qualifications

Active, unencumbered license or multi-state licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in NC; two years of full-time experience as a faculty member in a Board-approved nursing program; be experientially qualified, having clinical nursing experience, experience as a faculty member in a nursing program. Hold a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in health science field, curriculum and instruction, or related field. Experience as an PN program director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position provides oversight for the college's health sciences programs and oversees the PN program. The position reports to the Dean of Transfer and Health Sciences. The position assumes primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and growth of curricula/programs within the division, including presenting, networking, and partnering in the service area and regionally; provides administrative and academic leadership and supervision within the division; ensures the continuity of the division's instructional mission; coordinates the scheduling process and submits the schedule; coordinates division-related program assessment and improvement processes; ensures proper documentation of results and participates fully in the institutional effectiveness process; manages the health sciences budget; prioritizes equipment needs; evaluates full- and part-time faculty; supports the professional development and growth of division members; orients new full- and part-time faculty; maintains current licensure as required by NCBON; participates in college service, including committee work; teaches classes and/or leads special projects as recommended by the VP of Instruction and Student Services.

Thorough knowledge of instruction and curriculum development. Ability to produce student learning and to provide andragogical support to faculty. Knowledge of the North Carolina Community College System's operations and procedures and NCBON educational rules. Thorough understanding of accreditation. Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity and improving student success outcomes for all populations. Flexibility and adaptability. Ability to effectively address issues and resolve conflict. Confidentiality and sound judgement.

SALARY:
