Position Summary

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to support the achievement of the site’s move to a new facility.

The job includes but is not limited to cleaning up, sweeping, disassembling scrap skids and placing them in bins for scrapping per the material, organizing storage areas, helping with shipping and receiving, cleaning parts, etc.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Keep areas clean and organize shop areas as directed by manager.
  • Assist shop technicians with cleaning parts and other duties.
  • Assist with the movement of materials and equipment from one place to another.
  • Help with shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Perform assignments as helper to whatever is needed during the transition to the new facility and set up at the new facility.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a shop environment.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, and reach forward.
  • Daily uses hand strength to grasp tools, supplies and equipment.
  • Climb ladders.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and as able up to 50 pounds

Experience and Education

  • 2-3 months minimum experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Ability to work on-site during operational hours with occasional overtime as required.

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • Employee Safety Training is required, including Safety Awareness.
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Employees are required to wear NCS provided PPE as/when needed. PPE may include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with NCS safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
