Position:  Billing Specialist

Pay:  $17.50 / hr. - $19.00 /hr   Depending on experience

Caris Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for review, verification and follow up of hospice consents

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for review, verification and follow up of hospice consents
  • Responsible for review and entering Medicare notice of elections in a timely manner.
  • Audits patients consent for election to hospice and enters notice of election for Medicare (81A) As needed:
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits 
  • Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
  • Maintains records by scanning invoices, debits, and credits.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results

Qualifications

-  A high school graduate or the equivalent preferred.
-  Excellent computer skills including billing and financial software.
-  Must be well organized and detail-oriented. 
-  Must be able to communicate articulately and comprehend written and verbal communications. 
-  Must be able to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
-  Must poses general math skills and able to analyze information and report findings.
