Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Proficient in all Project Engineer criteria and ability to train and mentor Project Engineers
Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved; ability to influence others through communication
Understanding of preconstruction and accounting procedures
Assisting in managing the project
Act as Project Manager on projects $1-5M with support
Interprets designs and drawings; prepares takeoffs; researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors
Knowledge of drawings and submittals against contract documents (architectural and structural trades) including verification of material installation
Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
Verifies work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantities; ensures accurate payment of subcontractors and material suppliers
Maintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings; track and expedite material needed and delivery dates
Recognizes change conditions with respect to the contract and notifies appropriate parties
Ensures all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications
Assembles construction financial data; monitors costs; tracks costs including review and approval of invoices
May assign project personnel with daily job reports and schedule monitoring
Creates correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, etc.
Maintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate
Maintains RFI logs and timely response to job questions including identification of issues, formatting questions, tracking and resolution
Understand scheduling and develop short term and recovery schedules
Buyout of minor subcontractors
Knowledge of contract writing, change order development, budget process; successful writing of subcontracts
Knowledge of definition of contract bid packages and scopes of work
QA/QC and safety knowledge and implementation
Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures.
Assists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings and OAC meetings
Project closeout process; ability to manage, organize and submit proper materials for closeout
Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission, and values
Must be willing to travel if required.
