Seeks a motivated, organized, and community-focused Recreation Director to develop and oversee year-round programs, events, and partnerships to enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages. The chosen candidate will plan, implement, and evaluate recreational programs and community events while working closely with residents, Borough departments, the school district, and local nonprofits and businesses. Responsibilities include creating and managing programs, sports, and special events for youth, adults, and seniors; handling scheduling, facility reservations, registrations, vendor and coach coordination, volunteer management, and program marketing. Candidates should have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with proven experience in recreation management, event planning, program coordination, parks and recreation, or related fields. Experience in municipal settings is a plus. Proficiency with office software, online platforms, and social media is required, as well as the flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed. A valid New Jersey driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are mandatory. A bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Public Administration, Education, or a similar field is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification or NRPA CPRP/CPRE credentials must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe. This is a full-time position, with an option for part-time for the right candidate.
