Skills / Duties: Repairs engines and components, power trains, suspension systems and other mechanical units. Maintenance and repair of various types of vehicles, light and heavy-duty trucks, heavy duty equipment, engines, on board computers, electrical, air conditioning and brake systems, transmission, components and similar equipment. Knowledge and Abilities: Candidate must be able to read and use technical manuals, specifications, diagrams, schematics and similar guides to make repairs to vehicles and equipment. Candidate must be able to examine and discuss with operator the nature of the malfunctions. Knowledgeable of various engines, transmissions, drive trains, electrical systems and components of vehicles and how they operate in order to diagnose the reasons for failure and to correct the problems.  This position will require the use of various tools and equipment, including hand tools, air tools, tire machines, brake lathes, grinders, electronic scanner, welding and cutting tools to test and repair vehicles. Repair of snow equipment will be required.  Able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English. Understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions. Able to drive a truck. Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtains one within six months of hire. Education & Licenses: G.E.D. or High School Diploma. Other licenses/certifications may be obtained if required.
