Morristown Sewer Treatment Plant is seeking candidates for the full time position of Laboratory Technician with at least three (3) years of laboratory technical experience. Under direction performs water & wastewater sampling, analysis, scheduling, data entry, reporting, and related work. Experience with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of chemistry, biology, and other work involving extensive sampling, laboratory analyses, laboratory equipment, reagents and techniques required. Applicant must have the ability to lift 20 lbs and climb stairs. Job duties include maintaining laboratory compliance, organizing assigned work, sampling specimens, performing sample analysis of varied types in accordance with Standard Methods and prescribed procedures. Successful completion of 60 semester hour credits from an accredited college/university is preferred, which shall have included 24 semester hour credits in the biological and/or physical sciences OR a Clinical Laboratory Technology Certificate. A valid NJ Driver’s License is required. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Salary Range: $65,673 - $77,077.
