The Township of Livingston seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Chief Financial Officer. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Assistant CFO is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the Township’s accounting data, financial reporting, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, and general ledger. This role interacts with all levels of Township staff on various financial and budgetary issues and offers support to the payroll process. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of governmental accounting principles and procedures, organization of Township government, and NJ statutes applicable to municipal finance. Excellent analytic, mathematics, and communication skills. Teamwork is critical: Ability to establish and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with the public, department heads, Township staff, government officials, investors and auditors. QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA from an accredited college/university with major course work in Accounting or Business Administration. Minimum 3 years’ experience in NJ municipal finance and accounting. Comprehensive working knowledge of standard office and financial software. CMFO Courses a plus. SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with experience within the range of $90,000-$130,000 per year.
