PURPOSE

The IT Manager is responsible for managing all of the organization’s technologies and providing technology support, service delivery and reporting services. They will manage the IT team to include hiring, performance management, orientation and training, and completion of annual individual learning conversations.  The IT Manager will manage with retention in mind and work in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare Health’s Mission, Guiding Principles and Goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all organizational standards
  • Keep immediate supervisor well-informed of activities and recommend actions
  • Manage the acquisition, installation and maintenance of organization’s local area network hardware/software as directed.
  • Ensure technology documents/certificates related to technology operations and/or technology services are evaluated, updated and maintained.
  • Manage vendors that provide IT services, maintenance and support.
  • Review and advise on agreements, contracts and SOWs that pertain to IT service delivery, maintenance and infrastructure.
  • Provide written technology policy guidance to managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Provide direct supervision, management, and development of IT staff reporting to the IT manager.
  • Implement technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity.
  • Develop and maintains technology policies, standards and procedures documentation.
  • Oversee tasks assigned to staff to ensure they are prioritized and accomplished by the designated timeline.
  • Ensure the availability, continuity, and security of data and information pertaining to the organization.
  • Model and mentor staff in appropriate problem solving and positive communications.
  • Participate in Neighborcare Health leadership meetings and leadership development activities.
  • Lead and participate in quality of care initiatives and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in organizational planning and work with IS team to plan for long-term patient needs and resources.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in administration and patient care areas.
  • Oversee performance evaluation protocols and policies. Assure annual learning conversations are completed according to the organization’s evaluation calendar. 
  • May provide supervision of/or training for students who are assigned to Neighborcare Health as part of their professional education.
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed.  

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES 

Required for this job: 

  • Ability to manage a departmental budget, purchasing, and invoicing.
  • Knowledge and strong understand of workstation/server hardware architecture.
  • Knowledge of medical software (EPM and EHR), networking, data security.
  • Knowledge and high proficiency in the use of MS Office and Windows, AD and their related tools.
  • Knowledge, ability and skill to self-assess, identify and recommend training opportunities to enhance technical and professional skills.
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to effectively perform job duties under high levels of activity, variety of conditions and restraints.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff members and patients.
  • Ability and skill to organize and problem solve.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet delivery commitments.
  • Ability to manage, lead and execute IT projects of scope variances.
  • Ability to guide direct reports in their career development as it aligns with needs of the organization.
  • Ability to be empathetic towards staff members.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations and emergencies.
  • Ability to interact well with ethnically diverse populations.
  • Ability and skill to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Ability to effectively organize and manage a challenging workload, including prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, tightly integrated team.

EDUCATION

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree 

LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS/ REGISTRATIONS

  • Required: Valid Washington State Driver’s License and own transportation required and proof in automobile insurance.                                
  •  Preferred:  ITIL certification; Microsoft and Cisco certifications, Project management certification

Compensation 

  • The wage range for this position is minimum $96,394.00 to $137,155.20 maximum.   
  • Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
