Description

This position is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including associated on-premises hardware and systems. The Network Administrator will also provide IT systems and user support, assist in IT Operations projects, system onboarding, integration, upgrades and deployments. This role will need to work onsite five days a week in our Washington, DC office located at 1100 13th Street NW.

Responsibilities:

Network Administration

  • Monitor on premise network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high performance, availability and reliability.  
  • Maintain network equipment including deployment of data center hardware and software, Wi-Fi networks and Conference room system performance. Be on-call and respond promptly to network emergencies and outages.
  • Work with Senior Systems Architect on data center upgrades after business hours on projects impacting uptime. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Systems Administration

  • Participate and assist in IT Operations projects, system upgrades and deployments. Onboard new approved software and integrate with current systems.
  • Work in the service desk to provide technical support and guidance to end-users on network and system related issues.
  • Assist users with Conference room system usage and issues.
  • Be an escalation point to the helpdesk on tier 2-3 level issues.
  • Manage inventory and proper disposal of equipment.  Work with vendors on hardware maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years IT system and networking related experience with 1+ year of helpdesk support.
  • Experience with TCP/IP Networking, routing & switching, monitoring and auditing. Disaster recovery and high availability support. Wireless Networking; Command-Line Interfaces.
  • System admin experience with Virtualization systems and firewalls (specifically Meraki).
  • Ability to independently work, learn new skills and adapt quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. 
  • High level of Customer service required.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CCNA\CCNP certification
  • Azure admin certification
