GENERAL SUMMARY: | Provides Medical Social Work services to patients and their families, provides community organization and planning expertise, and provides leadership in working with physicians, Hospital staff and community agencies relative to the psychosocial problems and needs of patients. |
REQUIREMENTS: | Minimum of 2 years clinical experience. Ability to manage conflict and negotiate during difficult situations. Self motivated. Must be able to set priorities at all times. Must be very detail oriented and follow-up on everything. Must be able to work closely with physicians, nurses and other ancillary departments. Abides by “Quality Expectations” with “Service Oriented” attitude. Must demonstrate professional level of conduct, appearance and attendance. |
EDUCATION: | Completion of the requirements of the Board of Social Workers Certification and Licensure for certification as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Bachelors Social Worker (LSW). Education/experience in working with the geriatric population is necessary. |
