Summary

The Electrical Systems Operations Manager is responsible for the management of operations in the Gridforce System Operations Control Center and Remote Generator Operations Control Center.

 Primary Duties 

  • Management of personnel and systems in the Gridforce Control Center, with a particular focus on new hires and operators working without direct supervision of a Lead Systems Operator
  • Responsible to meet ongoing goals for Operational compliance with FERC, NERC, Regional, and Local Standards, Regulations, and Laws
  • Responsible for coordination with System Engineers, operations personnel and third-party vendors to ensure systems meet Operational needs on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for ensuring training requirements of Control Center personnel are met
  • Responsible for ensuring Operational needs are identified and met when onboarding new customers
  • Management of Customer Relationships with regard to Operational processes and protocols
  • Management and resolution of customer issues that arise in Real-time Operations

Compensation

The initial compensation range is $136k-$157k depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Relationships

The Electrical Systems Operations Manager reports to and works directly with the Director of Operations of Gridforce to manage the day-to day operation of the Gridforce control room, as well as assisting with operations strategy, customer onboarding, personnel development and training, and development of operational protocols and training materials.  Manage and oversee the Systems Operator role upon initial hire and in instances in which the Systems Operator is working without the direct supervision of a Lead Systems Operator.

 Education and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or at least 10 years’ experience in Bulk Electric System Operations, and at least 5 of those years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in customer relationship management preferred

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Effective verbal and written communication required
  • A thorough knowledge of bulk electric system operations, including both generation and transmission operations, is required
  • This position requires certification at the NERC Reliability Coordinator, PJM Transmission Operator and PJM Generation Operator levels. These certifications may be achieved subsequent to hiring.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • This position works in an office environment and will require the ability to sit for long periods of time and handle long periods of screen time
  • Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during normal business hours, but this position supports a 24 x 7 business so will be subject to calls in off hours during emergencies
  • This position may require occasional 12-hour shift coverage
  • Will require some travel
