JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

Working Lead/ Production Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
• Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Can simultaneously operate two or more machines when practical and necessary.
• Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing principals and basic shop math.
• Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools.
• Ability to read and follow work order, set up, tool, and measurement instructions.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred.
• Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems helpful.
• Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs.
