Description

Essential Functions

• Machining parts sent to the CNC Area within the need time to meet customer promise dates and coordinate with
production on those parts needing further operations
• Read and interpret blueprints or work from verbal or written instructions, sketches or from the actual part to be copied
or fitted. This includes the interpretation of this information into Bobcad and CNC programing
• Plan the setup and operation of various machine shop machines and tools, considering types of material, tolerances and
machine tool feeds and speeds. Including the programing of CNC equipment
• Use precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspections before, during and after machining
• Use hand tools or machines of the trade for modifications as required
• Maintain organized libraries of CNC programs
• Perform CNC and conventional machining applying most efficient speed and feeds, as well as most appropriate cutting tool
selection
• Accurate set up and operation of all tool room equipment, including CNC machining centers
• Troubleshoot existing programs to gain improvements in quality and efficiency
• Working closely with Maintenance, and Engineering to complete needed assignments to manufacture replacement parts,
modify machines, manufacture needed tooling, and in some cases build parts for new equipment
• Coordinate and prioritize assigned work with the help of the Sales / Tooling Engineer
• All other duties as assigned


Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30
pounds and seldom lifting to 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching,
pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to
safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40+ hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by the location. Eight (8) hour shifts are
Monday through Friday, and ten (10) hour shifts are Monday through Thursday. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work
may be required to meet business demands.


Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Thorough understanding of “G” and “M” codes, setup, and operation of CNC machine tools
• Software experience with Bobcad or similar program is a plus
• 2-5 years CNC programming and CNC Machining
• Ability to create CNC programs for new parts for production and prototype runs
• Extensive knowledge in tool fabrication and demonstrated trouble-shooting skills
• The ability to organize and prioritize
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Willingness to follow safety rules when operating machines and using tools
