Houston Fasteners a division of MW Components is looking for a Machine Operator - day shift. The Machine Operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Hot Forge Press Operator

• Work under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area
• Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements
• Meet quality and schedule requirements as assigned
• Monitor tool life and replace cutting tools as needed
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Strong computer skills (MS Office) with experience in ERP systems preferred
• Working knowledge of manufacturing principals
• Mechanically inclined
• Knowledge of hand tools

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

• Knowledge of the required forging temperatures for different material required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred
• Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
• Experience in manufacturing preferred 
• Experience in Set Up and Operation
• Understanding of math and calipers required
• Experience with Etchels and/or Warco press (or similar)
• 125-Ton, 160-Ton, and 400-Ton

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds
