Description

MW Industries is looking for a Coiler / Machinist. The coiler Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of automatic spring coiling machines to fabricate springs from steel wire according to blueprints and setup charts

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set-up spring coiling or wire forming machines in order to produce quality parts conforming to given specifications
  • Read and follow print, design sheet, and work order for product specifications and instructions
  • Perform quality checks on parts using micrometers, calipers, load testers, comparators, and other inspection instruments
  • Complete and maintain all quality records
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of our Quality Management System (QMS) and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
  • Adhere and comply with the company safety procedures and overall company policies
  • Perform other related duties and activities as assigned based on peak workloads

SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems
  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints
  • Basic math and recording abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
  • Great organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Experience in operating forklifts (sit down) a plus
  • Ability to utilize scales that measure in grams and pounds a plus

 EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred and/or skill trade.
  • 2+ years experience in coiling and/or equivalent machine operation and setup.
  • Any experience with lathes, mandrels, CNC machines, etc. a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  •  Warehouse environment where temperature ranges based on seasonal weather
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, pull, and push with hands and arms, reach overhead, and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, balance, kneel, and reach
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
