Controls Engineer - Lighting/Audio

The Musco Entertainment Engineering Team is currently seeking a Controls Engineer - Lighting/Audio to work from our Oskaloosa office. This team member will provide technical leadership associated with providing design solutions and programming for Light/Audio shows, primarily for sporting venues.More details about the role are below.
What you will do as a Controls Engineer - Lighting/Audio:
- Assess customer’s values and technical requirements associated with each project. Provide design solutions for light/audio/visual show programming to meet these requirements using appropriate products and software.
- Program lighting control systems of varying complexity
- Program audio/video synced light shows for venues around the world
- Produce still image renders and videos of projects to help sales
- Work with onsite customer audio visual and I.T. staff for lighting, sound, video and network interfaces.
- Responsible for all programming aspects of a project from initial concept through system life cycle. This includes lighting, audio, interfaces, and 3rd party integrations
- Communicate technical information both written and verbal
- Commission, field installation, and enhancements of light show products, troubleshoot any discrepancies
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- 2 or 4 year degree in Lighting Design, Theater, Arts, Computer Science, Engineering, Mixed Media, or related field. Practical experience of 2-5 years a plus.
Understanding/Experience in the following Lighting Protocols:
- DMX (Required)
- sACN (Required)
- Art-net (Required)
- KiNET (We’d be impressed)
- DDP (We’d be impressed)
- serial based pixel protocols (We’d be impressed)
Understanding/Experience in the following Lighting Control Hardware/Software:
- Pharos/Mosaic (Required)
- Paradigm (Would be nice)
- CueServer (Would be nice)
- Pathway (Would be nice)
- GrandMA 2 (Would be nice)
- GrandMA 3 (We’d be impressed)
- Madrix (We’d be impressed)
Understanding/Experience in any of the following Pre-Visualization Software in order of our frequency of use.
- Capture
- WYSIWYG
- MA3D
- Depence
- VectorWorks
