Full Time 40 hours a week, 4 ten hour days - Some holiday coverage
The Position:
The Ophthalmology Technician/Assistant works collaboratively with their assigned veterinarian, other staff veterinarians and the entire Angell support staff to provide Angell clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. These services include providing technical support in the examination room with outpatient and inpatient procedures, assisting with case management of animals admitted to the hospital, assisting with technical and anesthetic procedures. Other responsibilities include communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians.
We are looking for a Vet Technician/Assistant with excellent interpersonal communication skills who enjoys working in a team environment while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The Ophthalmology Technician or Assistant must have a strong technical background and knowledge of veterinary medicine and recognize the importance of conveying this knowledge and expertise to others. Physical Requirements:
- Mandatory regular attendance and punctual presence.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time 67%-100% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to constantly move about within the wards and departments 67% - 100% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to frequently position self in a manner to attend to patients at varying heights, including floor and exam table levels (3 – 4 feet in height) as well as elevated heights greater than 5 feet.
- Must be able to constantly move patients weighing up to 50 pounds within the wards, departments and grounds; over 50lbs with assistance.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least 1 year of veterinary technician/assistant experience in a clinical environment. Certified Veterinary Technician, CVT required to be hired as a technician. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
