Description

Full time position,  40 hours per week day shift position. 

If you have a love of animals and have at least 6 months of current professional animal handling experience in the Animal Care industry, we have a new opportunity in our Oncology Service for a Veterinary Attendant.

This position is responsible for the care of our patients in our inpatient service.Compassion, excellent communication skills and the empathy dealing with patients and clients are what makes an excellent Oncology Attendant.

These services include providing assistance in the examination room with outpatients and in-patient procedures, animal restraint for radiation therapy and chemotherapy administration, and assisting with management of animals admitted to the hospital. The Attendant assists the veterinarian and technicians in the oncology area, radiation therapy and in any other area of the hospital as needed. 

To excel in this position, applicants should have knowledge of animal handling skills and be able to communicate orally and in writing, veterinary specific clinical information regarding services to our clients and other hospital staff.

The Oncology Attendant must be able to interact with all staff members and clients in a positive and dynamic manner and to provide assistance and advice following hospital policies and procedure. This position requires knowledge of animal handling skills and be able to communicate orally and in writing, veterinary specific clinical information regarding services to our clients and other hospital staff.
