The Angell Animal Medical Center (AAMC) in historic Boston, MA is seeking applicants for a Staff Veterinarian- Medical Oncologist.
Angell has served the greater Boston and scenic New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center for close to a century. Angell is a premier veterinary institution staffed by 42 senior veterinarians, 17 interns, and 11 residents. Angell offers specialty services in pain medicine, acupuncture, anesthesiology, avian and exotic medicine, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, nutrition, medical and radiation oncology, ophthalmology, anatomic and clinical pathology, and surgery.

Our doctors practice in an ~ 80,000 square foot, state-of-the-art hospital containing a critical care unit, blood bank, multiple specialty rooms, 7 surgical suites, full service clinical laboratory, microbiology service, necropsy suite, histopathology laboratory for on-site biopsy evaluation. AAMC’s Diagnostic Imaging Center, supported by 3 board-certified radiologists, has a new state-of-the-art 16 slice Toshiba CT, MRI has a new 1.5 T unit, and C-Arm for fluoroscopic imaging.
Our radiation oncology service has installed a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator. Angell is the first site in New England to offer stereotactic radiation in addition to traditionally fractionated 3D conformal and intensity modulated radiation therapy. Our current oncology staff is comprised of two board certified medical oncologists, three oncology technicians, a certified radiation therapist and service secretary. In addition our oncology service prides itself on a close collaborative relationship with our surgery service and the clinical and anatomic pathologist to provide a complete in house service that is very unique in its approach to managing oncology patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking a board certified or board eligible veterinary medical oncologist. The qualified individual will be responsible for receiving patients with problems limited to the specialty of medical oncology, participation in mentorship and training of the medicine residents and interns, providing consultations to the Angell veterinary staff and acting as a resource to our referral community.
Requirements Qualified applicants must have a DVM or equivalent and ACVIM (oncology) board certification. Board eligible candidates or those having completed an ACVIM (oncology) residency will be considered.
