Come help us design the next generation of data centers and other mission critical facilities! As a Mechanical Engineer in our Mission Critical Facilities group, you will design the new, energy-efficient facilities where the internet lives. You will prepare conceptual and detail design, technical specifications, installation details, permit / bidding services, and perform construction administration (CA) services to review shop drawings, respond to RFI’s, etc. You will be challenged. You will help your team to succeed. You will see your designs come to life.Responsibilities:
Prepare mechanical construction drawings and specifications in conjunction with our in-house electrical, architectural, and civil/structural design teams
Prepare designs for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
Document study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events
Provide technical support in client meetings
Conduct site visit surveys of buildings for the purposes of collecting design information related to mechanical systems and utilities
Prepare field information documentation of site visit surveys
Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with data center or telecommunications facilities construction document requirements
Provide field construction management support (inspections, punch list generation, and project close-out)
Adhere to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all electrical design work
Provide oversight and primary design expertise for "Buildings" related mechanical engineering assignments and the mechanical team's associated deliverables
Provide leadership to the mechanical design team consisting of Junior/Intermediate Engineers, EITs and Designers/support staff
Manage projects to ensure schedule and budget goals are met
Solve complex design problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation
Responsible for certifying professional work on projects
Conducts business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison
Works with the Business Development Manager to develop proposals for the electrical engineering services provided by the team
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Ability and desire to pursue registration as a Professional Engineer
Minimum 4 years of experience with design of mechanical systems, preferably in the consulting engineering industry
Experience designing data centers or other mission-critical facilities preferred
Working knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to effectively communicate design intent to CAD staff. Experience with Revit preferred.
Ability to read and write specifications
Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills to succeed in customer-facing roles
Proven ability to work exceptionally well and efficiently in a team environment with a proven strong customer service commitment
Must be authorized to work in the US

Minimum: $70,000
Market Rate: $85,000
Maximum: $108,000
