Position Summary:

In the position of PLC Technician you will ‐‐ Maintain and perform preventive maintenance in a safe and respectful manner of the production facility’s equipment and processes. Program and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLC)s and automated production machines. Provide industrial maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of the production facility.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for providing a high level of knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment, components, and controls on the most critical and/or precise facility equipment (i.e. production machining centers, lasers, robots) that may not otherwise be fixed by other technicians or maintenance mechanics. Requires specific electronic/electrical skillset.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and other maintenance troubleshooting guides. Possess knowledge and experience in troubleshooting industrial controls and instrumentation, including but not limited to: ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic, ability to use electrical troubleshooting devices safely and effectively, demonstrate experience with PLC's remote input/output (I/O) and variable‐frequency drive (VFD).
  • Execute all maintenance activities in a fast‐paced food manufacturing facility according to schedule, Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.
  • Complete all necessary functions effectively and thoroughly in the facility computerized and automated manufacturing system

Position Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Additional Experience Desired: Between 3‐5 years of experience in a maintenance and automated mechanic position
  • Additional Experience Desired: Between 3‐5 years of experience in food and beverage production
  • Computer Skills Desired: Demonstrated experience with PLC's Remote I/O and VFD, preferred experience in industrial networking, preferred experience with motion controls
  • Preferred Certifications: N/A
  • Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Highly preferred experience and knowledge with automated packaging and manufacturing equipment

  • Possess knowledge and experience in mechanical systems and maintenance processes, included but not limited to:

  • Preventative maintenance task
  • Preferred experience and knowledge with automated packaging and manufacturing equipment:
  • Robotic Packaging systems
  • Robotic Palletizing
  • Inkjet and /or laser printers, case printers, print and apply pallet labelers
  • Vision systems
  • Barcode scanners
  • Boilers, Air Compressors, Ammonia Compressors

Salary Range: $82,160 - $96,512
