Reports to:                                           Supervisor Operational Engineering

Cooperates with:                                Engineering, Sales, Production

Primary Responsibility:                     Define product specifications, develop design solutions, and manage and support existing MIRATECH product offerings per time schedules, quality parameters, customer needs, market needs, and manufacturing capabilities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design custom emissions solutions for a range of engineering applications.
  • Complete 3D SolidWorks model modifications for made-to-order MIRATECH products.
  • Create submittal and dimensional drawings for sales support.
  • Create production and assembly drawings for production and fabrication support.
  • Dimensional verification and quality control of finished drawings.
  • Continuous focus on cost reductions in design and fabrication specific to MIRATECH’s capabilities.
  • Communicate thoroughly and regularly to establish an efficient working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an ABET-accredited university with a bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering – Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Prefer 3-6 years of experience in a design or technical engineering role.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks modeling and drawing creation; sheet metal experience a plus.
  • SolidWorks CSWP or CSWE preferred.
  • Experience with finite element analysis packages.
  • Experience with computational fluid analysis packages.
  • Working knowledge of Syspro ERP software desired.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to produce high-caliber deliverables in a short time frame.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
