What this position entails
IntelliScript’s Information Technology has been a key part of our success and is critical to our future. In this position as a Data Architect, you play a pivotal role in the alignment of the business vision, technology strategy and portfolio execution. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data solutions that meet our clients' business objectives while ensuring compliance with industry-leading data privacy standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive data architecture decisions, implement best practices, and contribute to the success of our projects.
What you’ll be doing
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures leveraging modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Evaluate and select appropriate data storage, processing, and querying technologies based on project requirements and constraints.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring they align with business objectives and data privacy regulations.
- Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Stay current with industry data privacy regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, FCRA, GDPR, CCPA) and integrate compliance into architectural designs.
- Design and implement security measures, including encryption, access controls, and auditing, to protect sensitive data.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders) to gather requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide guidance on best practices.
- Monitor and optimize data pipelines, ensuring they meet performance, availability, and scalability requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance data processing efficiency.
- Ensure that technology execution aligns with business strategy and provides efficient, secure solutions and systems
- Provide thought leadership by bringing an outside-in perspective in making key decisions
- Help achieve value-driven outcomes by ensuring IntelliScript’s technology strategy is executed in alignment with corporate vision and business strategies
- Drive adoption and delivery of lean enterprise architecture practices within the Scaled Agile framework
- Create, catalog, maintain and deliver the documentation and artifacts that describe the principles, standards, policies, and methodologies of the enterprise architecture practice
- Evaluate new technologies/platforms for continuous improvement of our products and develop architectural standards to leverage them
- Define technical standards and ensure solutions are aligned with the enterprise reference architecture standards, patterns and best practices
- Collaborate with system and domain architects, engineers, and leadership to document the current state architecture, value streams and domain capability models
- Rationalize technology portfolio to map and document coverage between business and technical capabilities, and identify opportunities for innovation, reduction in risk, complexity, and total cost of operations
- Deliver on the opportunities identified in the technology portfolio rationalization and the business value defined by the business vision and strategy
- Recommend and implement appropriate strategies that result in services, technologies, tools, methodologies, and solutions that ensure a robust, integrated and aligned architecture that supports the long-term objectives of IntelliScript
What We Need
- 10-20 years of relevant experience
- Progressive experience as an architect/ technical lead in large IT projects spanning multiple enterprise systems.
- 10+ years of experience in design, development, and testing of software applications with a focus in data management
- 10+ years experience in SQL Server and on-prem environments
- 5-7+ years in building and managing solutions in the cloud
- Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills
- Expert knowledge and experience with:
- Ensuring that business operations continue un-interrupted while simultaneously managing enterprise-wide people, process and technology transformation
- Architecture patterns for: enterprise integration, system decomposition, refactoring and cloud migration
- On-premise, hybrid and cloud native architectures in an enterprise environment
- Highly available, fault tolerant and event driven architectures at scale
- Enterprise Architecture, technical strategy, and technology roadmaps
- Lean-agile delivery methodologies in an enterprise environment
- Expert knowledge in administering Data Management and Data Governance tools, solutions and processes.
- Deep understanding and experience in administration of HIPAA standards and other regulatory data privacy standards (HIPAA, CDPA, CCPA, CPRA, FCRA, GDPR).
- Expert knowledge in clinical standards/ontologies including ICD10/SNOMED/NDC/LOINC/Rx Norm.
- Experience building out enterprise master data management services (e.g. MPID generation, de-identification processes, tokenization)
- Expert in building out clinical data models, data warehouses, designing of data lakes for enterprise (and product use).
- Experience in data models, such as: OMOP, FHIR, HL7
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience in release management.
- Familiarity with designing and building APIs, ETL and data ingestion processes and utilization of tools to support enterprise solutions.
- Experience with identified and de-identified data sets.
- Experience with expert determination and creation of de-identified data as well as security management of identified vs de-identified datasets.
- Expert in managing diverse healthcare datasets from disparate data sources, transforming them into impactful products.

Wish List

Location
This position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI and travel to client sites, industry conferences, etc.
The salary range is $107,000 to $243,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, skills, certifications, and location. If relevant experience is less than 15 years the range would be $107,000 to $217,000; for experience of greater than 15 years, the range would be $120,000 to $243,000. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
