This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and the candidate must report to Mesa’s Pomona, CA office.
As a Project Coordinator, you will be expected to proactively communicate with the program and project managers and collaboratively work to achieve project goals and solve emergent problems. This position requires the use of independent judgment, enhanced verbal, and written communication skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision with the support of a remote team.
Daily responsibilities include overseeing and maintaining team schedule tracking and monitoring tools, communicating schedule changes to the project leads, to include resource loading and management.
You will be responsible for tracking new projects as they come in and any changes to existing project schedules, notifying the project leads and meeting with the project teams to review updates as needed. You will work closely with the program and project managers to ensure schedule dates are adjusted accordingly and distributed promptly. Additionally, you will help log and distribute project stakeholder communications to include the creation and maintenance of communication matrix and records.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for conducting weekly internal meetings with project managers, design engineers, and/or other project stakeholders to review project tasks and schedules. You will discuss project progress, schedule adjustments, and change management. This role works directly with the engineering team, so knowledge of engineering milestones, deliverables within substation design projects is preferred.
The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or related field from an accredited curriculum along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant project experience, with at least 5 years of Project Coordination or Scheduling experience working within engineering and design projects.
Desired Project Coordinator Functions:
- Using Oracle Primavera P6 Professional as primary tool.
- Excellent internal and external client relation skills, ensuring that project goals/objectives are achieved and that all business processes and applicable procedures are followed.
- Complete project documents, which include schedule updating, client required reporting, and log sheets.
- Satisfy customer expectations and project requirements.
- Work with the project team to identify, document, and distribute schedule changes.
- Identify, document, assign, and track project actions and issues.
- Keep the project status reporting system current with the actions and changes that take place on assigned projects.
- Assist project manager in controlling schedule performance as necessary to fulfill requirements and ensure satisfactory project performance.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams within multiple programs on project statuses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Oracle P6 scheduling software.
- Ability to enter data, create formulas/functions, and build pivot tables within Excel.
- Ability to gather information from a variety of sources for input into schedules.
- Ability to work with multiple projects, teams, and customers prioritizing and staying organized.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Proactively gather information, seek solutions, and contribute within different customer environments and with a variety of stakeholders.
- Some knowledge of power utility substation design projects.
- Ability to interpret written/documented utility schedule criteria.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Possess solid verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to coordinate and interface with all stakeholders at a high professional level.
- Display strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and firm understanding/familiar with scheduling software.
- Willingness to develop, promote, and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

Annual Salary Range:
$46,536.79-$97,858.92
The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.
