Mesa seeks an experienced Transmission Line Engineering Project Manager - Remote Eligible -  with the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

(This is a virtual position in the United States where you will work from your personal residence in a distraction free space. We are currently hiring/performing work in the state of Florida.)

  • Ability to perform broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communications skills.  Ability to coordinate with and interface with clients, vendors, engineers, colleagues, and other electric utilities personnel.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively with clients, peers, and affiliates.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, scheduling software and possess working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations.
  • Possess willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
  • Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant project experience with at least 3 years experience managing engineering and design projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under the direction of a Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, or other Senior Management (e.g., Director, Vice President).
  • Initiate projects: Complete project initiation documents, which include detailed work scope/outline, budget, and schedule for completion.
  • Project Definition:  Assist Project Team in defining/clarifying project scope and level of detail required satisfying customer expectations and projecting requirements. Maintain Project Status – Keep the project status reporting system (database) current with the actions and changes that take place on assigned projects so the overall organization is able to respond to client requests.
  • Manage Project Implementation – Leads assigned project team, ensuring that project goals/objectives are achieved and all business processes and applicable procedures are followed. Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering/design work for projects.
  • Control costs –Monitor and track project expenditures, earned value, cost, and schedule performance as necessary to satisfy corporate requirements and ensure satisfactory budget performance on all projects.
  • Maximize Project Profitability – Through appropriate project budgeting/pricing, utilization of resources, and cost controls, maximize the profit margin on individual projects.
  • Communicates effectively with each client on a regular basis; this includes keeping clients informed of issues that could adversely affect project execution or impact scope, schedule, or budget performance.
  • Coordinate/Communicate with Peers – Work with project team to avoid or eliminate/mitigate schedule and budget impacts resulting from changes.
  • Business Development: Proactively communicates and promotes Mesa capabilities/strengths to new and existing customers. In interfacing with potential or existing clients, listens for and seeks out new projects that may exist or are being formulated. 
  • Maintain relationships with existing or potential clients:  Meets regularly with key clients to discuss current/future projects, evaluate Mesa performance, and identify other business opportunities either with current clients or through referrals. 
  • Ensures projects are closed-out and archived in a timely manner in accordance with applicable procedures.
